Breah Dunn - Head Coach & Director of Swimming Operations
Group: Para, Tyee Sophomores

Breah has been a member of the Tyee Aquatic Club since its inception and we are thrilled to have her back this season in a new role as Tyee Head Coach. In previous years, Breah has been leading our Para program as well as having a critical role in our pre-competitive programming at Tyee. She has been involved with the sport of swimming from a very early age and has an appreciation for all areas of the sport. Breah is a NCCP level 3 trained coach and is committed to her own development in order to provide the best possible for her athletes. Breah is currently coaching our Tyee Sophomore group and Para group as well as spearheading all swimming operations at Tyee.

Aimeson King - Assistant Head Coach & Lead Competitive Coach
Group: Tyee Juniors and Seniors

Aimeson is a former National team member for Canada in both the pool and open water disciplines. He is back with Tyee for his second season after coaching our Tyee Sophomore group last year. This season he takes on the role of Lead competitive coach and will be coaching both the Junior and Senior groups. Aimeson has over 15 years of experience in the sport of swimming and aims to share what he has learned with his athletes to help them with their goals. He has been involved at all levels of competitive swimming and is excited at the opportunity to see the Tyee competitive program grow and develop.

Doug Van Ek - Lead Sooke Coach
Groups: Sooke Competitive & Sooke Pre-Competitive
Doug is a recent University of Victoria graduate with a strong passion for swimming. Doug has extensive experience swimming competitively for ten years and has been coaching for the past seven years. He currently leads our program in Sooke with the intention of growing the program to create young swimmers interested in competition at all levels. With an enthusiastic demeanor, Doug keeps the young athletes having fun while training and improving their skills to fulfill their potential.

Solace Cooper
Group: Tyee Freshman

Solace has been an essential early development coach for Tyee in the past few years after ending her own swimming career in 2017. Solace is dedicated to giving her swimmers the skills they need to become better in all areas of the sport. She has a great understanding of the fundamentals that young swimmers need for success in the water, all while having fun! Solace is coaching the Tyee Freshman group as well as being an integral lead of our pre-competitive programs.

Mike Neil
Group: Tyee Masters

Mike is a former professional triathlete with over 25 Ironman Triathlons under his belt. He is the founder and Head Coach of Human Powered Racing, founded in Victoria in 2006. Mike has been involved in the sport of triathlon since 1994 and began his coaching career with the Queen's University Triathlon Club in 1998. Since that time he has gone on to coach the Commonwealth Triathlon Club, Island Triathlon Club, Tyee Masters Swim Club, as well as coaching a number of triathlon camps both locally and internationally. Mike is a qualified coach who uses his many years of racing and coaching experience to provide a dynamic and interactive coaching style to athletes of all ages and abilities.

Wesley Wood - Strength & Conditioning Coach
Groups: Tyee Juniors and Seniors

Wesley is a very experienced strength and conditioning coach from Limitless Fitness of which he founded. Wesley creates and directs Tyee's strength and conditioning programming which helps the development of each athlete's performance. Wesley utilizes correct body mechanics and and a positive mindset as a foundation to excel his athletes both in and out of the pool. Wesley served within the Australian Army and was awarded a Distinguished Service Medal for courage and leadership in action. Wesley is a former Ironman competitor and has published a book titled "Limitless Eating" which is targeted towards endurance athletes looking to improve their performance. We are happy to have Wesley back for another season at Tyee!
