Dexter Bligh - Head Coach & Technical Director

Along with managing all operational aspects of the organization, Dexter coaches competitive swimmers in Tyee's senior program who are aiming towards provincial and national levels of competition. Combining his obvious outgoing enthusiasm for the sport of swimming with a strong understanding of technique and competitive psychology, Dexter has proven himself to be a great motivator for athletes of all ages and abilities. He is a former national qualifier in the 100 and 200 backstroke, is the Vice-President the British Columbia Swim Coaches Association, was the Head Coach of the Vancouver Island Region Team at the 2016 BC Summer Games, and has coached multiple athletes onto the podium at provincial championships.
Jennika Efford - Assistant Head Coach & Registrar
Group: Tyee Juniors
Jennika has been coaching since 2009 in both winter and summer clubs around B.C. She has always loved working with young athletes and challenging them to reach their full potential. Jennika swam for the University of British Columbia for 4 years before moving to Vancouver Island. Jennika coaches the Junior Group on the competitive side, as well as overseeing the school programs and acting as Club Registrar.

Doug is a fourth year student at the University of Victoria studying Political Science and Environmental Studies. Doug has experience swimming competitive for ten year and has been coaching for the past seven years He currently coaches the Tyee Freshmen with the intention of growing the program to create young swimmers interested in competition. With an enthusiastic demeanor, Doug keeps the young athletes having fun while training and improving their skills.

Mike is a former professional triathlete with over 25 Ironman Triathlon under his belt, and is the founder and Head Coach of Human Powered Racing, founded in Victoria in 2006. Mike has been involved in the sport of triathlon since 1994 and began his coaching career with the Queen's University Triathlon Club in 1998. Since that time he has gone on to coach the Commonwealth Triathlon Club, Island Triathlon Club, Tyee Masters Swim Club, as well as coaching a number of triathlon camps both locally and internationally. Mike is a qualified coach who uses his many years of racing and coaching to provide a dynamic and interactive coaching style to athletes of all ages and abilities.
Wesley Wood - Strength & Conditioning Coach
Groups: Tyee Juniors and Seniors
Wesley is an experienced strength and conditioning coach from Limitless Fitness - a business that he founded. Wesley creates and directs Tyee's strength and conditioning program(s), helping with the development of each athletete's performance through correct body mechanics and the mindset to excel both in and out of the pool. Wesley served within the Australian Army and was awarded a Distinguished Service Medal for courage and leadership in action. Wesley is a former Ironman competitor and has published a book titled "Limitless Eating" which is targeted towards endurance athletes looking to improve their performance.
